The Plixer Technical Support Team prides itself on providing enterprise-level, world-class customer service. We are looking for a remote Technical Support Engineer to grow our team and help fulfill our 24/7 support model. You will be working with Cyber Security and Computer Networking teams to take ownership of their requests and see problems through to resolution.
Technical Support Engineers are responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting our software and hardware solutions via phone, email, screen share and chat; following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues; writing technical documentation; and providing implementation and training services.
We seek a candidate with a strong background in Networking, SaaS deployment and monitoring, Bash/Perl scripting, and Linux OS management. You will be someone our customers trust and rely upon to provide friendly, timely, and accurate solutions to their technical questions and problems.

Qualifications & Experience
- Superior troubleshooting skills are the true key to this position. A successful applicant will be able to isolate a problem, develop a hypothesis, and determine what will prove or disprove that hypothesis. Having all the answers is not critical; knowing what questions to ask is.
- Experience with cloud architecture as it relates to deployment and management of SaaS applications in AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
- Strong background in networking concepts, including TCP/IP stack, IP networking, and SNMP.
- Hands-on experience with Linux OS management, including system administration, troubleshooting, and security.
- Experience with Bash and/or Perl scripting for automation and system management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical. This position involves direct interaction with customers and writing technical documentation. Your words will be the public face of Plixer, and we take that seriously.
- Understanding of web-based application architecture and computer networking is a must. Our Networking and Security Intelligence platform runs on Linux, uses the Apache web server, and a PostgreSQL database.
- A self-motivated mindset and a drive to learn are critical within the Plixer corporate culture.
- Holding a degree or certification in a relevant field is desired but not a requirement, such as a BS in Computer Science and/or a Cisco CCNA certification.
