Plixer Announces Support for VMware NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud

VMware to demonstrate Scrutinizer® and NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud interoperability at VMworld

KENNEBUNK, Maine, Aug. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Plixer, a global leader in network traffic analytics and incident response, is announcing new support for VMware NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud metadata exports. In support of this new capability, VMware will be demonstrating Scrutinizer, Plixer’s network and security intelligence platform, as part of the NSX SD-WAN Whisper Suites at VMworld 2018 US from August 26th – 30th, 2018.

Scrutinizer excels at collecting metadata from all corners of large, multi-vendor networks and cloud deployments to detect, visualize, report, and respond to network and security incidents. The demonstration will showcase Scrutinizer’s contextual visibility into network traffic, application performance, and security – spanning from the mobile user, through to the software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN), and into the cloud. This rich visibility allows customers to combine the flexibility and cost savings of SD-WAN with end-to-end visibility to manage and better secure their business transactions and technology workflows.

“We are disrupting traditional wide area networking (WAN) routing models by replacing legacy hardware routers with virtualized appliances for the premises and cloud,” said Steve Woo, senior director product management, VeloCloud business unit at VMware. “We are very pleased to have Plixer as an ecosystem contributor to provide mutual customers with application and traffic visibility extending from the mobile edge, through the SD-WAN, all the way into the cloud. This combined solution allows VMware customers to optimize user experience for virtualized and cloud applications.”

VMware NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud is the global leader in software-defined wide area networking technology. It enables the use of wired or wireless broadband internet with or without traditional multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) to create enterprise-grade WANs with increased bandwidth, high performance access to cloud, service insertion, and extensive network visibility. It also delivers low-cost bandwidth, investment protection, expanded bandwidth, increased throughput, greater reliability, exceptional application performance, and better access to cloud applications and services.

“Plixer is thrilled to be collaborating with VeloCloud, now part of VMware,” said Jeff Lindholm, CEO of Plixer. “Customers are looking for ways to reduce cost, increase flexibility, and improve security all at the same time. Together, our solution allows them to achieve these goals, all while holding their service providers accountable to their MPLS, internet access, and/or Long-Term Evolution (LTE) service level agreements.”
