I am hanging out here in the office today by myself doing some QA on the new version of NetFlow Analytics.  The bugs seem to have been hammered out so, I started looking at interesting network behaviors caused by my brand new laptop.  In the process, I recorded a 3.5 minute video on traffic to my pc which I think many of you should try with your own Scrutinizer server.

Oh, please forgive the ugly beard that I’ve grown for snowmobiling.  My wife loves it…kidding.  Anyway, I think you will find it very interesting as I was a bit surprised to learn that I was creating such a voluminous amount of connections ‘in’ from the Internet.

I thought this would also be a great time to record a slightly longer video (i.e. 6 minutes and 20 seconds) which highlights some of the new features in Flow Analytics version 2 with Network Behavior Analysis.  I hope you like it.

Michael is one of the Co-founders and the former product manager for Scrutinizer. He enjoys many outdoor winter sports and often takes videos when he is snowmobiling, ice fishing or sledding with his kids. Cold weather and lots of snow make the best winters as far as he is concerned. Prior to starting Somix and Plixer, Mike worked in technical support at Cabletron Systems, acquired his Novell CNE and then moved to the training department for a few years. While in training he finished his Masters in Computer Information Systems from Southern New Hampshire University and then left technical training to pursue a new skill set in Professional Services. In 1998 he left the 'Tron' to start Somix which later became Plixer.
