This time of year in Maine  it gets dark early and it’s cold. Because winter can be a real drag for some, I’ve always made it a point to get out and enjoy the winter. I’m a pretty big snowmobile fan and am frequently sharing stories and pictures with the team I work with.

Recently, I invited several of the guys and a couple of our customers to come sledding with me up north for a couple of days.

First Time Sledders:

Experienced Sledders:

Dave – Customer

I tried to pump them up by sharing videos of crashes or little clips of me missing turns and getting stuck so I was anxious to get some fresh stories on the guys I work with.

With only the best intentions (kidding) I showed the guys how to fish tail and kick up dust to blind the riders behind. I also demonstrated how to jump into the soft powder on the side of the trails to enjoy the deep snow. I played down the possibility of getting stuck. Heh heh. And oh the fun we had. 🙂 Everyone of the first time sledders got stuck.

Anyone want to come sledding next year?

Michael is one of the Co-founders and the former product manager for Scrutinizer. He enjoys many outdoor winter sports and often takes videos when he is snowmobiling, ice fishing or sledding with his kids. Cold weather and lots of snow make the best winters as far as he is concerned. Prior to starting Somix and Plixer, Mike worked in technical support at Cabletron Systems, acquired his Novell CNE and then moved to the training department for a few years. While in training he finished his Masters in Computer Information Systems from Southern New Hampshire University and then left technical training to pursue a new skill set in Professional Services. In 1998 he left the 'Tron' to start Somix which later became Plixer.
