|Integration with Ipswitch's WhatsUp|

Logalot integrates with WhatsUp from Ipswitch Software

Setup several WhatsUp servers to forward messages to Logalot's central console. By doing so, Logalot lends scalability to WhatsUp and supports a distributed architecture.

Clicking the graph icon (as shown in the above screen capture) Logalot will trend how often outages are occuring in Chicago or Boston. If you click on the server name (e.g. whatsup.somix.com) in the Violations List column, Logalot will display the actual outage messages shown below.

If you click on globe (as shown in the above screen capture), a web browser will open and connect to the WhatsUp server in New York City.

As part of your support contract, Somix will help you imbed alerts right inside WhatsUp as shown below:

It does more!
Logalot is a syslog, Microsoft® event log and SNMP trap collection system for alerting and reporting on your hardware messages. It provides the following integration:

If Logalot is on the same machine as WhatsUp, Logalot will find WhatsUp, prompt the user for a login and password and determine which maps are active (determined by active ASP pages).
If Logalot is installed on a different machine than WhatsUp, the user will have to configure Logalot with the URL to WhatsUp as well as the user name and password to login.
The user can then select a map and then select a Microsoft server/workstation within that map.
Events are collected on a user configurable time interval.
Logalot uses Perl APIs to collect the event logs.
