YouTube – Use NetFlow to catch ‘em!

Is there to much YouTube traffic on your network? How would you know?
Did you know that YouTube redirects browsers to sites such as limelightnetworks to download that actual video feed? I started noodling how I was going to figure this out and I came up with the following idea.
I created a custom report in Scrutinizer that reports on any internal host communicating with the IP addresses that represent YouTube (i.e. 208.117.236.69, 208.65.153.251, 208.65.153.238 and 208.65.153.253) which I found on the internet. Once I find a host communicating with YouTube, I then drilled in on the host and view the historical trend of the users traffic. Pretty slick.
Speaking of YouTube: watch to see how I did this with Scrutinizer.
Have Fun,
