Cisco has released the Cisco NGA 3140 or NetFlow Generation Appliance which extends NetFlow abilities to switches that don’t support NetFlow or IPFIX.  I didn’t find details on the cost however, I’m sure it will cost more than the nBox or the softflowd.

Palo Alto Networks NetFlow Support

Palo Alto Networks NetFlow support is coming soon and we’ll be one of the first vendors to support it in our NetFlow Analyzer.  The team at Palo Alto Networks not only supports traditional NetFlow, but they also support deep packet analysis to identify actual applications such as Skype, BitTorrent, Webex and more.  Many netflow analysis tools mistakenly identify this traffic as HTTP (TCP 80).  Cisco NetFlow NBAR is a similar technology which makes network traffic monitoring much more informative especially when trying to perform root cause analysis. This feature is not in the Cisco ASA NetFlow export.

Microsoft Exchange Reporting: What makes Mailinizer different?

The business of reporting on Microsoft Exchange logs just obtained a new player:  Plixer International who has released a product called Mailinizer.  This is a company that is first and foremost a NetFlow traffic analyzer company, so when Plixer decided to break into the email reporting software market, I wanted to discuss it with Scrutinizer NetFlow Analyzer Product Manager Michael Patterson.
